Miss Isabella

Izzy is one of Max's sassy little gal friends from school! Until recently Izzy has very little hair so she loves wearing little pretties in her hair.

It was a cold but beautiful Saturday morning when we took these photos but Izzy was a trooper for the most part so mommy could have some great shots of her little princess!

Early Snow

We had a little mid-October surprise here in Geneseo, Illinois this year! We got about 2 inches of snow which is kind of unheard of. In fact, it was the first time it has snowed this early since 1980! Wow!

I must say that I am not a fan of snow but it was great to see the wonder in Max's eyes as he walked around in it!

Snow provokes responses that reach right back to childhood.

Blended Love

I had the honor of working with the lovely blended family last week. You could really feel the love between them! My sister is actually my half sister but I would never think of calling my love for her half. The love of family is so strong and think its great that I get to capture that for people.

Project.12-September {Animals}

The September monthly project for Project.12 is Animals. I am actually really happy that this kind of forced me to take some photos of my girls-- Marley a beagle/Shepard mix and Mia a boxer/bull dog mix. I love my dogs so much but when Max was born they were kind of set on the back burner for attention including pictures being taken of them. (Yes, we are a house full of M's besides me-- Mike, Max, Mia and Marley)

Marley my beagle/Shepard mix is pushing 12 years this year! I got her when I was a sophomore in high school from the animal shelter and she has moved around to five states with me! Even though she sheds buckets of hair and has become somewhat crotchety in old age I couldn't imagine life with out her!

Mia our boxer bulldog mix is such a loving and caring dog. She is short but weighs 70 lbs and despite this fact she thinks she is a lap dog! She is so good with Max and recently Max realized that he could interact with her! It is so cute to watch them together!

They say people that have dogs live longer. I definitely believe that statement because these dogs bring so much joy to our lives!

Project.12 Monthly Project- Urban

This months Project.12 subject was Urban. Of course I waited until the very last day to go out and take these photos. Max loved running up and down this alley and checking out the gutters and steps!

{Bridges} Project.12 Monthly Project

Nothing like waiting until the very last night to do a project!

We have this awesome walking path that goes through Geneseo a long the Hennepin Canal . The canal is an awesome piece of American history, it was used as a test project for the Panama Canal and was going to make maritime travel faster. By the time is was completed there were faster means of transportation. Even this bridge that goes over the canal is made from Carnegie Steel!

I am a history nerd I love this little gem in Geneseo and Max likes to look at the water and trees! :)

We had to get a picture together!

The picture above is not the best picture but I wanted y'all to see the
lock and dam!
